Inverlea Guest House
Despite being in a city this guest house is arguably a cyclist's paradise.' I state that because what could be better for a cyclist at the end of a ride to be offered a free bottle of beer or glass of red wine! That is combined with the breakfast menu being great (the full Scottish is 'very full' and the porridge was the best I've ever tasted!)
The proprietor Liz is very welcoming and the premises are really nice, as are the rooms, with the little extra touches, including the shower having something to place the soap on so not having to keep putting it on the floor and picking it up again. There is even a little welcome card from Liz waiting for you in the room. it is conveniently close to the rail station - and the town centre if so inclined.
The beach/seafront is a slightly longer walk but still comfortable. I found it the perfect place to relax with a '99' after a tough(ish0 ride on a warm day.
The Fox and Will bar/restaurant is literally just acrooss the road. while I didn't use anywhere else for evening meal if other places are better they certainly are good. A nice touch was that when paying my bill on my first night, I was told to keep the receipt to get 10% off the next time. Useful iif staying more than one night . Thoroughly recommended
